Tezuka Town vs. The Zombies
On October 31st in the town of Tezuka Town, Halloween was in full swing.
Orange and black streamers hung from every door post and streetlamp. Jack 'o Lanterns with perfect rendering of demonic faces etched into them. Considering the very eclectic population of Tezuka Town, what constituted as 'demon' tended to vary depending on where you went. Grotesque Shinigamis adorned the pumpkins outside Light Yagami's apartment building (put there by Misa as Light didn't really care for holidays), a stark contrast to the adorable 'moe' smiles the ones Kyoraku next door had put up. That most of them resembled a more cheerful version of one Nanao Ise

A chorus of explosions ripped through the peace and calm of Central command, if such could ever exist in a military compound. Hachiken Yugo blinked his eyes twice, adjusting to the smoke and rubble that surrounded him on every side and went on forever. Around him, soldiers screamed inaudible orders to their platoons and rushed to defend the fort from the invaders. Hachiken found himself stuck without a place to go. It just figured that this would happen on a day he was back in town.
“Brother!”
Hachiken’s ears became attuned to the child-like voice approaching him.
“Al, what’s going on?” Hachiken de

The alarm clock went off and Edward Elric rolled over in bed. He would’ve liked to just shut it off and go back to sleep until noon, wake up fully rested and get a big brunch to stuff his face with. That would be paradise, but it wasn’t his life.
No, Edward Elric led a much different life.
“Come on, Ed, get up! You have a stable to clean out before sunrise. Get moving.”
Ed groaned and shoved a pillow over his head in a vain attempt to drown out the voices.
“Leave me alone,” he moaned.
He heard a laugh.
“No can do, buddy. We have to get up and so do you!”
The pillow was forcibly pulle
Edward Elric's day starts as normal: he wakes up, he rolls over in bed and goes back to sleep, he wakes up again when Al comes and apologetically forces him out of bed. He goes downstairs for breakfast and enjoys bacon and eggs while Alphonse busies himself outside, helping an old lady with two huge bags of cat food walk to her car. Ed leaves the hotel that is currently his home just as Al is coming back. They meet up halfway.
"You have everything, brother?" Al asks.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah," Ed answers with a long dramatic sigh that generally gives off the vibe of him just wanting to go back to bed and forget about work for the day. "Let's h

I don't like him.
I don't like him one little bit.
He's been coming around a lot lately. He arrives in the morning and isn't gone until nightfall. I can't remember the last time Mei took me on a walk through the garden to see the flowers, just the two of us. She's always with Alphonse now, he never leaves.
It wasn't always like this, even after Mei met him and told me she was in love. I didn't think much of it then. Mei used to say she was in love with Alphonse's brother, and look how that turned out. She thought he was her prince, but he was little more than a village idiot, barely tall enough to pass as a proper human.

Everyone called Edward Elric a genius, but that doesn't mean he knew it all. Automail, for example, would always be something of a mystery to him. Oh, he knew the mechanics of it, at least in theory. Winry was a Grade-A Gearhead and always happy to explain in painstaking detail how every single wire and bolt and gear worked in tandem to make his arm move on command. With stars in her eyes and long blonde hair flipping around in her tight ponytail, Winry could go on for hours without ever getting tired or even stopping to eat.
Seriously, Ed had seen her do it!
He remembered being seven years old, making the innocent, yet huge mistake of
Edward Elric drank down what was left of his coffee, then took a moment to aimlessly study the empty cup before setting it down. The café was less busy than usual, which was just fine as far as Ed was concerned. Aside from the equally silent person sitting next to him, the young alchemist really wasn’t in the mood for company right now. He would’ve turned even his own brother away were he there at the moment. Ed leaned back as far as the steel chair would allow, which unfortunately wasn’t saying much.
“So,” he said after blowing out a loud puff of air to get his violet eyed drinking buddy’s

Just how naïve I had been. Did I really belief I could be together with

After the device had vanished, lightning like flames started to destroy

Ed could hear the noises of a distant fight, and the bangs of the explosions mixed with the screams of the Amestris soldiers. His right shoulder was hurting like hell, his automail shattered around. When he opened his golden eyes, he only saw smoke and fire, and could barely breathe.
Ed and his brother Al had been kidnapped by the Homunculus, to be used as human sacrifices as soon as the eclipse started. The boy felt remorseful for having put his younger brother in such a dangerous situation, but luckily they were still alive. They hadn't got their bodies back yet, though.
At least the were free again, apparently, but the cruel sounds of th

"EDWARD! GET THE HELL OUT OF THERE!"
I'm trying, Edward Elric thought bitterly, as he dodged a flying rock, which could have easily knocked him out; and being out cold would most certianly not help his current situation - he couldn't be left here. Edward grinded his teeth when he felt his muscles begining to ache and weaken as he slowly grew tired. He breathed heavily and ran with all the strength he could muster, furiously blinking away the sweat and blood from his fading golden eyes. He tried not to think about the deep wound in his leg, nor the way his sight appeared to be becoming more and more dull.
He let out a gasp when he felt a sha
